Helping to build confidence in the water, Wadur's Swim School offers progressive levels of achievement, where skills and abilities are developed through achieving given standards to a nationally recognised assessment.
Available for all ages, one-on-one or group, beginners to competitive level, the lesson content and stages are based on the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming standard which allows for each individual to progress at their own rate.
Our friendly and compassionate team of instructors understand the importance of learning to swim, and are there to motivate and educate the pupil to enjoy the pleasures of swimming and to help build confidence in and around the water in a relaxed atmosphere, whatever your age.
Parent & Baby
Informal lessons to introduce children to the pool environment, helping to build water confidence through songs and games.
Ages: 6 months - 2 years
Day/Time: Tuesday: 10.30am - 11.30am
Course Duration: Drop in session only (no booking required)

Ducklings
Informal structured lessons. Children will work towards gaining ASA Duckling Awards through songs & games. Parent/Guardian required to accompany child in the water.
Ages: 2 - 4 years
Day/Time: Tuesday & Friday: 12.00 noon, 12.30pm & 1.00pm
Course Duration: 4 weeks (4 x 30 min lessons)

Cygnets
Structured formal lessons. Learning through songs, games & repetition whilst working towards ASA awards.
Ages: 4 - 5 years
Day/Time: Monday - Friday: 3.30 – 4.00pm
Course Duration: 12 -14 weeks (30 min lessons)

Juniors
Structured formal lessons based on the ASA National Plan for teaching swimming (see levels below).
Ages: 5+ years
Day/Time: Monday - Friday: 4.00 - 6.00pm & Saturday: 8.30 - 11.00am
Course Duration: 12 -14 weeks (30 min lessons)

Level 1 - Squids: Complete non swimmers
Level 2 - Starfish: Able to swim 10 metres on front & back and have basic water skills.
Level 3 - Seahorses: Confident in deep water, be able to jump in at the deep end, have a basic knowledge of swimming strokes and be able to swim 20 metres.
Level 4 - Jellyfish: Able to swim 100 metres in a recognisable stroke and have basic ability in the three other strokes. Must have knowledge of surface dives and be able to tread water.
Level 5 - Octopus: Able to swim 200 metres, be proficient in Front Crawl, Backstroke & Breaststroke and have basic ability in Butterfly. Able to perform basic dives.
Level 6 - Sharks: Able to swim 600 metres, possess a high level of water skills and be proficient at diving. Able to swim in clothes and maintain a good stroke technique over a long distance.
Level 7 - Dolphins: Able to swim 800 metres, have excellent water skills, Front Crawl, Backstroke & Breaststroke and be proficient at Butterfly.
Junior Swim Club (Junior Coaching) under 16s
Children aged under 16 years who are able to swim at least 1,000 metres in a 1 hour session and have excellent knowledge of front crawl, back stroke, breast stroke, starts and turns and a basic knowledge of butterfly.

Rookie Lifeguards
Following the Royal Life Saving Society syllabus for children, including water safety, rescue, self rescue and emergency response.
Ages: 8 - 12 years

Course Duration: 12 -14 weeks

Fun Sessions
Saturdays: 1.00-3.00pm
With the inflatable and big raft style floats. Non swimmers or those using buoyancy aids will only be able to use the big floats at the shallow end. The inflatable is for competent swimmers only. Unaccompanied children must be over 8 years to attend this session.
