The Belhus Park Heritage Project

The Original Mansion at Belhus

The Belhus Park Heritage Project is a local heritage group with over 150 members. The group consists of a cross section of the local community. The involvement of all sections of the community in this project will ensure sustainability and future.

The group has been talking with the Woodland Trust and other landowners involved in the area about their idea of creating a circular heritage trail around what used to be the old Belhus Park estate - a capability Brown landscape.

The trail will take the visitor back in time and through a series of on-site interpretation panels and self-guided trail leaflet will aim to bring the fascinating heritage and story of the Belhus Park Estate to life. Points of interest along the trail will include the old icehouse, the impressive ornate brick-built stink pipe for the elaborate house drains, the footprint of the old mansion, the moat and the Long pond and the capability Brown landscape.
