Following on from the Government's announcement, we have now finalised our plans for step 4 of the roadmap to easing lockdown restrictions, which will take place on Monday 19th July.

Our main priority is the health and safety of you and our staff. So we have put in some extra steps to keep you safe and our facilities open; please see our FAQ's below...

SAFETY & CLEANLINESS

As per the government’s guidance, there is no legal requirement to wear a face covering/mask in public areas. However in order for us to keep you and our staff safe we strongly encourage you to wear your face covering/mask when visiting our centres.

Yes; we will continue to provide sanitiser stations and wipe down stations throughout all areas of the centres.

Yes; even though you use our booking system, we still ask you scan the QR code upon entry.

No; one way systems have been removed.

Yes; To ensure the safety of our staff and others, we have made the decision to become a cashless facility. When we reopen we will only accept card payments and we encourage contactless payments to be made whenever possible.

If you need to cough or sneeze please use a tissue and bin after use.

If you are feeling unwell or have any of the following symptoms please do not come to centre:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

To protect others, Stay at home.

As part of the Governments  initiative and for us to comply with the government guidelines; we kindly ask that you contribute to the NHS Track and Trace service.

To contribute, you will need to download the NHS COVID-19 App and scan the QR code upon your visit. These QR codes are located at the entrance of every centre.

Any data collected is collected is for your safety and the safety of others, it's simple to do, secure and only stored for a short period. Should you get contacted by the Governments track and trace team you must follow their instructions. Impulse Leisure will not be storing your data in anyway as part of this scheme. We will however, continue to undertake our own track and trace via our booking systems.

We are all working very hard to provide the Government the assurance that Leisure Centres are a safe place to maintain your health and wellbeing as we work back to a new normal, please play your part.

CLASSES

No; we will be keeping our timetables the same for the moment so we can reduce the amount of cross over between classes and to ensure we keep have adequate time for cleaning  between classes.

Yes; however we will continue to phase the increase in capacities to ensure more people can attend but maintain an increased level of social distancing.

We are continuing to provide classes online and on-demand. We are streaming our online classes at the same time as our face to face classes. This means that if you cannot attend your preferred class or it is fully booked, you can still enjoy the classes you love at home. Please note, we are initially trialling online classes at Blackshots, with the intention to bring them to Belhus and Corringham at a later date.  If you are a Belhus or Corringham member you can join in with the Blackshots classes online. Plus there is no need to book for online classes.

Bookings become available at 12 midnight on the permitted amount of booking days, in accordance with the restrictions of your membership

Don’t forget when booking sessions, the following still applies:  

Platinum Members: booking is available 8 days in advance

Standard Members: booking is available 7 days in advance (must be booked in advance as payment is required)

Non Members: booking is available 5 days in advance (must be booked in advance as payment is required)

Yes; We respectfully ask everyone to Cancel at the earliest point that they realise they can not attend to ensure others have an opportunity to attend the class. Thank fully so many of you do this fantastically, However, we do still have a high proportion of No Shows so we have at your request  introduced a restrictions scheme for those who  fail to follow the cancellation procedure. . For those who book and do not turn up, cancel within 1 hour of the start time of their session or are more than 5 minutes late to their session they will receive a £1 fine and their booking privileges will be suspended until this fine has been paid. The nominal £1 fine paid will be used to support our charitable projects, including free ‘Save a Babies Life’ Courses, Grub Club, tackling children’s holiday hunger and our Exercise on Referral Schemes. This will allow us to continue providing these essential services.. To remove the fine you will need to pay in centre.

For hygiene purposes we have made the decision to ask you to supply your own mat when taking part in a group exercise class. We will have a limited number of mats available for use, however in line with the government advice, cleaning of the equipment is necessary to kill bacteria and virus’ (thereby minimising the spread of Covid-19), therefore we ask you to please clean the equipment before you use it to protect yourself, and clean it after use to protect others.


GYM

Yes; in order to comply with governments track and trace we require you to still book all gym sessions in advance. In addition, to ensure we receive essential Government funding we are required to provide funders attendance figures on a regular basis.


Yes; we are upping our capacity in all of our gyms.

 


Yes; we will continue to provide sanitiser stations and wipe down stations throughout the gyms and ask you to please continue to clean the equipment before you use it to protect yourself, and clean it after use to protect others.

Yes; almost all the  equipment on the gym floor will be back in use including the loose functional kit.

 


We have suspended the dishonour booking charge for gym bookings. We will continue to monitor this and if we see an increase in no shows we will re-introduce this charge.

 


SWIMMING

Yes; in order to comply with governments track and trace we require you to still book all swim sessions in advance. In addition, to ensure we receive essential Government funding we are required to provide funders attendance figures on a regular basis.

 


You can book all of your swim sessions online or via our App or online booking portal. Our App is available to download for FREE in the Play or iStore.

 


If you are a non-member and you wish to book a swimming session, please follow the below steps...

1. We require all non-members to have signed up for our non-member activity registration scheme. This is free of charge to sign up for and can be done by clicking here. This is only required once.

2. Once you have registered for our non-member activity scheme, you will then be able to create your online/app booking account, please click here and input your email address and request a password. Again once you are set up the process after is very simple.

3. Now you have created your password, you can login either via our app or on our online booking platform here.

4. Select the your session and book and pay.

If you want to book a family swim, or a swimming session with a child, you will need to contact Reception to book. 

 


If you want to book a family swim, or a swimming session with a child and are not an Impulse Leisure member, we will require you to follow the below steps to book a family swim session.

1. We require all non-members to have signed up for our non-member activity registration scheme. This is free to sign up for an can be done by clicking here

Yes; we are upping our capacity in all of our pools, this includes swimming lessons and Aqua

 


Yes; however we do still encourage you to arrive with your swim wear on underneath your clothing.

 


Yes; all shower areas will open from Monday 19th July 2021. Again, we do continue to ask that you clean the touch points before and after use

 


Yes; all lockers will be available. Please remember to bring your padlock or a 50p coin. As we are a cashless facility it is vital to bring a 50p coin to access the lockers; the 50p is refundable after use. We are looking into changing the coin mechanism system, but reiterate we do not carry any cash on site.

 


We have suspended the dishonour booking charge from swim sessions. We will continue to monitor this and if we see an increase in no shows, we will reintroduce this charge.

 


The teaching pool is in the process of reopening which will take approximately 3-4 weeks to heat, treat and chemically balance ready for your return.

 


SUNBEDS

The sunbeds at Blackshots  are opening on Monday 19th July 2021. Check with sites as third party supplier

 


Yes; we require all sunbed sessions to be booked in advance.

 


Bookings for Sunbeds will be open on Friday 16th July at 1pm.

 


£4 for 7 minutes & £7 for 14 minutes.

 


HEALTH SUITES

The Health Suites at Blackshots & Corringham are opening on Monday 19th July 2021.

 


Yes; we require all Health Suite sessions to be booked in advance if you are attedning to use the Health Suite only.

If you plan to use other areas (swimming, gym, classes) before or after attending the Health Suite you do not require to book.

Bookings for the Health Suite will be open on Friday 16th July at 1pm.

 


CAFE

The café will be a phased re-opening. More information to follow.

 


Yes; the cape is open with food service available on limited days.
