Impulse Leisure raises over £1300 from Coffee Mornings

Impulse Leisure are pleased to share that £1,372.71 has been donated to Basildon Hospital Macmillan Nurses through fundraising at a series of coffee mornings held at the Trust’s Civic Hall and Blackshots Leisure Centre.
Local people were invited to come along to the events, which were held in September and October, and enjoy tea, coffee and cake.
The funds were handed over to the Macmillan nurses at Basildon Hospital by Garry Tapsell, Group Health & Fitness Manager at Impulse Leisure.
Speaking about the events, Garry said: “While we are a registered charity ourselves, we are passionate about supporting as many causes as possible which benefit the health and wellbeing of our community.
“As well as raising important funds, Macmillan Coffee Mornings give us the opportunity to invite the community into our centres to enjoy a lovely social morning with each other.
“A very special mention goes out to Wendy, Annette and Emily who organised and ran the events. Without them, the mornings would not have been the massive success they were.
“We plan to repeat the events next year, so please keep an eye on our social media channels for further information.”
Macmillan Coffee Mornings collectively raised over £15 million across the UK in 2023, which is enough money to fund 241 Macmillan nurses for a year.
Impulse Leisure is a community focused leisure trust that aims to improving population health outcomes, address inequalities and support broader social and economic development. Events such as the coffee mornings make the facilities accessible for more people, and helping to spread awareness of the work Impulse Leisure does within the community.
