Founded as a significant local social enterprise, we make it our responsibility to support the communities in which we’re based in as many ways as we can. One of the principal ways we do this is by providing new and innovative employment opportunities.
Our overarching goal to improve health and wellbeing across each of our eight localities is something we hold very dear, whether for staff or members. We're very aware that without happy staff, we simply can’t have happy customers.
Working for us
The leisure sector is one that offers a vast array of career opportunities. We have over 450 staff from all walks of life, working across a broad spectrum of roles.
As a dedicated leisure charity, any profit we make goes straight back into developing and expanding our facilities - and the more effort that goes into this, the greater our capacity for vacancies. Our commitment has made us one of the highest employing social enterprises in Essex and West Sussex.

Apprentice Scheme
We all have to start somewhere and getting a foot on the ladder is no easy feat. Impulse Leisure successfully operates a bespoke Apprentice Scheme as a gateway for young adults at the beginning of their career. Delivered in partnership with Lifetime Training and Albion in the Community, apprentices at Impulse Leisure can "earn whilst they learn," gaining experience and recognised qualifications along the way.
Our apprenticeships provide a valuable stepping stone, not just for those with an interest in the leisure industry, but for people looking to make their way in all industries. We have roles from business development to coaching, and everything in between.
